500!!!

I know I said my next post would be more NH pictures but then I realized something. This is my 500th post! Wow! Seems like that's a big milestone I should comment on.

Back when I started this thing, it was just Mike and I together on the road of life. My how things have changed! Now we're parents of 2 awesome little boys and run ourselves ragged trying to keep up with them. Other big changes have been a loss of a career for Mike followed by a new even more challenging career of being a stay at home Dad, and a couple of renovations that we then left behind for another house. Given that I started this blog just over 4 years ago, that's a lot of big changes to track.

Of course, most of what we put here is more of our day to day adventures. While it sometimes seems like a chore to keep up and recap everything here, it's very important to me to do so. Not necessarily for my readership since I don't think that's more than a very small handful of folks (though every once in a while I'm surprised when a friend I thought didn't stop by here says "yeah, I read that on your blog!") but as a sort of journal for the family. Some day, I plan to take advantage of the blog to book companies and get some of this down in bound print for posterity.

This blog has also been a nice writing outlet. While it would be too inflated a statement to call myself a writer, I've found that I actually enjoy trying to be one from time to time. Writing papers for school was always such a bore...who knew that I would do it as a hobby someday!

So 500 posts. Big accomplishment. I wonder what crazy events both big and small I'll be writing about for the next 500. Interesting thing life, you never know what it holds around the corner for you.
