Wrapping Up Summer Weekends in NH - Part 1

School officially started for the boys last week. Kind of at least. Dylan started back to his 3 day a week preschool and Cade will start...once he's old enough at the end of October (2 years, 9 months). However, cooler weather is here, our last vacation for a while has come and gone and we're back to more of a routine so summer is officially over. Before we left for our big Disney trip a few weeks ago (which I'm still fishing through a million and one photos of), we had a couple of great weekends in NH with friends and family to wrap up our summer mountain time. Just in time for fall mountain fun time, starting this weekend!

On the second weekend of August, the Lee cousin's came up. We like the parents, the boys like playing together. It's always a nice\easy\fun time with the Lee family. On Friday, Justin Lee instantly made a new fan by showing Cade this:

Cade thought Justin was hysterical.

The big morning event for Saturday was the Polar Caves. Love that place. We try to get there once a year.

Cade LOVED feeding the deer.

Saturday afternoon was spent playing at the condo and playing at our rec center at the pool.

The next morning we made a little visit to the Basin in Franconia Notch. The boys enjoyed the flowing water and throwing rocks in. It's the simple things sometimes. The morning was mostly great. There was a small incident when Ryan slipped on the rocks and took Jessie down with him. No one was hurt but they sure did get nice and cooled off quickly. Impromptu wet t-shirt contest for those two. But they left all smiles.

It's so cool to see the smooth, curvy rocks formed by years of running water.

We ended the weekend with a trip to the Bear's Den - our favorite ice cream shop. It's not a summer weekend in the mountains unless ice cream is involved, in my personal opinion.
