My calendar tells me it's not summer any more. And while the weather isn't quite summer weather, it definitely doesn't feel like winter around here. If the forecast is right, the boys will be taking their new Christmas toys outside to play on Christmas day wearing sweatshirts only, no heavy coats. So, even though I'm months late in posting about summer, the weather is making me like I'm only a little bit late. So, thanks for that mother nature!
In other news, it's no surprise that I haven't been on the blog ball as of late. I've never really had a plethora of time for blogging, but my heart was behind it so I always made the time. It's been a great venue to keep family and friends from far and wide updated on our whereabouts. But now, I find myself just wanting to use that time for other things. So, I've made the decision to stop blogging. I have a few already in the queue that I'll post up, but the end of the year seems a good time to stop. However, I think I will still post semi annual updates on the boys and may still be inspired to post an update now and then. So don't give up on me completely.
Ok, and now for pictures. Mike's uncle, Captain Bob, treated us to our annual family sail back in August. He arranged for perfect weather and it was a completely fabulous day. I'm not sure if he'll be able to top it next year.

We set up our family camp on a sandbar on Crane's beach which was absolutely perfect. The kids played in the shallow water between the sandbar and the beach and we didn't have to watch like hawks to make sure they weren't drowning or being swept away by undertow.

The little kids ran around and played, the big kids (adults) ran around and played. We ate, we dug in the sand, we enjoyed each others' company.

I walked down the beach with my sister in laws and got to take in the beauty of the place.
And when all the kids were played out, we loaded back on the boat for a very long trip back around Cape Ann. Normally, we would go back up the Annisquam River but thanks to a super moon and a very low tide, the boat would have bottomed out. Not a person complained. We had beautiful scenery and the calming motion of the boat to stir all into naps and total relaxation.

And we even got a nice view of the Boston skyline in the distance at dusk. It was a really, truly amazing day!
